Bang

I now have a huge dove shaped dusty print on my bedroom window.

I'd post a photo if my camera wasn't completely incapalble of capturing
any detail.

That'll teach 'em.

Last night some rather polite and helpful man called me to tell me how much money I could save if I switched my telephone and broadband to HomeCall. As he went through the offers it seemed clear that I could save quite a bit. It took him a massive ten minutes to tell me all the details and answer all my questions and then the conversation ended with

Me: "This all sounds very good and I'm sure had I seen it on T.V. or in the paper I might go for it"
Salesman: "Yes you really could save a lot of money, can I take some details off of you"
Me: "No, I have a policy of not buying from cold callers and door to door salesmen"

Ha ha, I kept him on the line all that time and he still didn't get the sale.

It really should be made illegal for business to use a random number generator for sales calls.

Broke

My car broke down.

Had it repaired, cost a fortune, they replaced my suspension and brakes. Driving home from the garage last night I felt that the brakes were significantly less responsive than before. Naturally I was concerned about this and called the garage straight away, they said

"Your brakes will feel a little spongy, you should be careful for the first 200 miles."
I would have prefered that information before I drove home, hurtling at 50 miles an hour towards the car infront wondering why my brakes weren't stopping me.

Diverted

Why is it that whenever a road is closed the diversion does not lead you to the same place that the initial road does.

This morning I followed a diversion which lead me through another village and down a cul-de-sac, again.

How annoying!

My TV is a normal 4:3 TV, that means that if a broadcaster chooses to broadcast a 4:3 presentation it fills my screen, but if they choose to broadcast a 16:9 presentation my TV puts black bars accross the top and bottom. Sometimes a broadcaster puts the black bars on themselves and then broadcasts it as a 4:3 presentation. This is all fine.

Last night I was watching TV and the broadcaster was broadcasting a program originally recorded in 4:3, the broadcaster then added black lines down the sides and broadcast it as a 16:9 presentation, when my TV picks this up if then puts black lines top and bottom, so I now have a small picture amist a large black border arround all 4 sides of my TV.

This annoyed my since the programme was intended for my screen but they messed it up.

I realise that broadcaster initially started putting black borders top and bottom to counter act the fact that many people had 4:3 screens that cannot handle a 16:9 picture but 16:9 came after 4:3 so it stands to reason that a 16:9 TV should be able to handle a 4:3 presentation, I know my Dads TV just puts black line down the sides. I can only assume a broadcaster would do this if they thought that everone watching had a 16:9 TV that could not handle 4:3 presentations. Why? Why would they think this?

If you've read this far you're probably really bored now but I had to let out my annoyance.

It's Snowing

At what age does getting excited about the snow become childish?
